Wellness & Spas trade fair gains unprecedented support
The third edition of the Wellness & Spas Middle East exhibition, part of the globally recognised “Beautyworld Middle East” trade fair, promises to be the biggest to date. Organised by Messe Frankfurt, the event provides a focal point for this fast emerging industry, regarded as one of the most dynamic new business trends in the world. Over 180 exhibitors representing 300 brands are expecting to take part, presenting the very latest treatments, products and equipment.
According to Diana Taylor, exhibition manager, “international statistics indicate that the wellness market is growing by at least 17%. But it's obvious that it's growing faster in the Gulf area by simply looking around, every hotel, health club and major shopping which feature exclusive spas, specialist retailers and clinics.”
Changes in lifestyles are another contributing factor to the mushrooming market dynamics. More and more people in the Middle East are switching on to the need to relax and look after themselves more than ever before. “Stress is major cause of a variety of serious diseases, so it's not surprising people want to manage their routines more carefully and are investing in wellness products and services”, says Ms Taylor.
In Dubai alone there are at least 120 spas, health clubs and clinics offering wellness services. Many of the world's greatest names such as Six Senses Spas and Fitness First have opened in recent months. By 2015 it is predicted that the UAE will be amongst the top spa destinations in the world with an estimated 200 hotels offering world class facilities.
Additionally, regional spend on healthcare in Dubai is currently a staggering US $74 Billion. This has inspired the creation of Dubai Healthcare City that comprises of a vast area of medical facilities of which around half will be zoned as a wellness cluster.
Major international groups and multi-national suppliers remain a major part of Wellness & Spas Middle East. National pavilions from Germany, Spain, France, UK, Singapore and Thailand will be on show together with some of the most prominent brands in the industry including: Balnea, Massor, Babor, Phytomer, Charme, d'Orient, LPG, Hydroco, Oxyspa, Dermalife, Spajet , Omnilux, Spa Arabian Concepts, Echo2Plus, Christine Valmy, Biorem, IPL, Promats, E-Life, Nailstation, Reviderm and Cellucur.
